" The ability and capabilities embedded in an individual can be drastically enhanced by having the opportunity of support systems. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will absolutely promote the skills and zeal of contributing to social impact through my leadership capabilities. However, the skills I gain from the Millennium Fellowship will make my contributions to social impact on schools and art communities more relevant and aligned with the UNAI principles and SDGs.
I am super excited to be a Millennium Fellow because the program will give me the platform to continue building my leadership skills and contributing to social impact in my community. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowering Youths, Preventing Teenage Pregnancy (EYPTP)
E.Y.P.T.P. is a pioneering project combating teenage pregnancy through education, empowerment, and supportive network, helping teenagers gain life insights to becoming a better version of themselves and shaping a better tomorrow for Nigeria's youth.
Foremost, it is very pertinent to understand the effect of getting pregnant at tender ages, which can be a result of death, barrenness, lack of respect, and dignity on the community, etc. However, E.Y.P.T.P has evolved around contributing to the solutions of reducing teenage pregnancy in Osun State, precisely Ile-Ife. Moving forward, it has been discovered that the majority of victims of the vice are teens at the secondary school level (dropout students or not)
However, this particular project is set to educate the young teens of secondary schools in Ile-Ife, empowering them to see beyond the present and equip them with quality measures to avoiding teenage pregnancy. In order to achieve these, this project has the following objectives:
1. Empower youth with knowledge, skills, and resources for informed decision-making 2. Reduce teenage pregnancy rates by 20%
2. Reach 500 youth with reproductive health education and services 3. Improve educational attainment (e.g., increased graduation rates) by 20%
