Millennium Fellowship Project: Ivy Sister Initiative

The Ivy Sister Initiative is a menstrual hygiene project aimed at addressing the challenges of menstrual health and hygiene faced by young women in underserved communities. The project works to increase awareness, provide educational resources, and ensure access to menstrual products for those in need. Through partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers, the Ivy Sister Initiative distributes menstrual hygiene kits and provides information on menstrual health to promote dignity, health, and education for young women.

About the Millennium Fellow

Yona Akyu is a young, visionary and promising student of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-ife, Osun State, Nigeria. Born in North-eastern Nigeria, he's currently studying dental surgery at the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-ife in South western Nigeria..
Akyu has shown unflinching passion in his pursuit of the actualization of economic empowerment, social and educational welfare of members of his community. His desire to see that the less privileged in the society are supported to lead quality lives, has spurred him to serve as a volunteer in various non-profit organizations in different capacities. Akyu envisions a future where he can expand the scope of his influence and contribute maximally to the development of the United Nation's Sustainable Goals.
