" Great thinkers make the world a good place. Great action-takers make it better. I
participate in health-related activities because I want a world free of disease and
illnesses. I am a thinker.
I want to be more proactive and a world-changing action-taker, which is what the Millennium Fellowship offers. Of course, I am very thrilled to be a Millennium Fellow! "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Be Informed
This project is a a group work targeted at young people in our immediate community.
The aim is to educate adolescents and young adults on sexual and reproductive health and rights, promote menstrual hygiene and reduce stigma around menstruation, provide young people with access to resources and support for their sexual and reproductive health and rights, and help combat sexual harassment in various settings.
About the Millennium Fellow
David Adebowale is a third-year medical student at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Having lived in four Nigerian states, he has observed the life conditions of Nigerian citizens, the most notable being the unavailability of proper healthcare services, which is familiar to these people, Igbo, Yoruba, or Hausa. This observation spurned a desire in David to contribute towards improving the health of his people. David is a fellow with the Millennium Campus Network, and he aims to leverage this opportunity to contribute positively to the health of his university mates who lack health education by organizing targeted peer-education activities.
