" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers a unique platform to amplify my work in menstrual health and hygiene, breaking down barriers and creating sustainable change. Empowering women and girls to manage their menstrual health with confidence and dignity is not just a passion but a mission that drives me daily. As a Millennium Fellow, I look forward to collaborating with like-minded individuals who share my commitment to creating a world where menstrual health is no longer a barrier to opportunity. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Ivy Sister Initiative

The Ivy Sister Initiative is a menstrual hygiene project aimed at addressing the challenges of menstrual health and hygiene faced by young women in underserved communities. The project works to increase awareness, provide educational resources, and ensure access to menstrual products for those in need. Through partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers, the Ivy Sister Initiative distributes menstrual hygiene kits and provides information on menstrual health to promote dignity, health, and education for young women.

About the Millennium Fellow

Idera Moses-Oke is a bright and dedicated medical student advocating menstrual health and hygiene. Currently in her fifth year of medical school, Idera combines her academic background with a passion for women's health, focusing on raising awareness and improving access to menstrual hygiene products and education. For as long as she can remember, her passion for women's health and menstrual wellness has always been a priority. Through her brand, Ivy Cup, she helps provide sustainable period cups and period education; having helped over 300 women gain access to happier periods. She has volunteered with several organizations, including the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria, The Ivy Foundation, and the Campus Health Rights Initiative. Through her initiative, Idera aims to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and empower young girls and women to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.
