The skills I gain from Millennium Fellowship will broaden my horizon, make my goals more tangible and prepare me for the challenges ahead. I am excited to unlearn, learn and relearn, making a difference where it matters. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Pad Drive
Pad Drive is an initiative focused on young school girls to educate them on menstrual health and reduce the stigma surrounding menstruation. This initiative also focuses on proper education on issues that are around sexual and reproductive health, ensuring that they are correctly addressed so that young girls can lead confident lifestyles in schools and outside their school environment.
About the Millennium Fellow
Omotara Adesina is a young and innovative student of English and Literary Studies at Obafemi Awolowo University. She is globally inclined and driven to social change within and outside her local community. Her advocacy for social change encouraged her to join other global organisations such as AIESEC, which is dedicated to changing the world one youth at a time.
Although her current focus is on Education and the physical and mental health of young school girls, Omotara has always been passionate about her environment, as well as the well being of society. Hence, her participation as a campus journalist believing that adovacy starts from the smallest of places to making impact in the world. She is also a volunteer at Darek Charitable Foundation which is dedicated to promoting SDG 4 through frequent outreaches to schools, donating school materials and educating young people on the impact of education. She hopes to use her voice, skills and knowledge to advocate for social change, a step at a time.
