" Healthcare should be caring -- yet, many are left wounded, unheard, and neglected. In our hands is the power to influence and dismantle the cracks in our healthcare system -- shaping the future of health equity. In our hands is a responsibility to mend these fractures -- ensuring that all people get the care they deserve. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Health(Care?)

Health(care?) is a newspaper that was born to bring you stories where we can understand the feelings of those left behind. Who is on the other side of the widening chasm in healthcare? These disparities are not new. They are deeply rooted, sometimes entwined with the origin of our country. These are also not isolated issues. Rather, they are woven in the tapestry of our healthcare system; yet often, they are hidden away from the spotlight. That's why we created Health(care?).

About the Millennium Fellow

Manas Nair is a student at the Ohio State University majoring in Biomedical Science on a pre-med track. He was born in the U.S., but his family is from Kerala, India – and he speaks Malayalam at home with his family. Medicine and public health have been at the forefront of Manas’ interests since middle school – so his years were filled with experiences that not only cultured his interests in medicine – but gave it a more nuanced view of its human aspects. He is currently conducting research on glioblastoma, and is also involved in projects to address inequities in healthcare. Professionally, he hopes to become a physician while perhaps also conducting research as well.
