" I envision an ecosystem where every woman who succeeds in STEM becomes a beacon for others. Through the Millennium Fellowship, I aim to ignite a chain reaction of female leadership in science and technology, creating guiding lights for young women stepping into STEM. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: She Envisions

"She Envisions" is a dynamic initiative aimed at empowering and supporting women, especially those aspiring to build careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This project integrates multiple avenues to create meaningful impact which is guided by the principle of uplifting women through education, motivation and access to opportunities.
As a member of the GWIST club at my university, I have been actively involved in studying and educating myself and my peers on key STEM topics to organize impactful workshops. A significant milestone is hosting a workshop for freshmores and sophmores in my university. This workshop introduced them to the different major options they have in the university. I was a part of the organising committee as a member of the GWIST club where we called our seniors to talk about their experiences and advice for the different majors the university offers. Through empowering freshmores and sophomores, which included a lot of female students, with this knowledge we intend to spread awareness and promote students in making an informed decision while choosing their subjects in their academic journey.
In addition to this, I’ve established a social media page on Instagram, we_women_wise , where I consistently post motivational content in the form of quotes from other pioneer women. I wish to leverage the reach digital era has brought and share supportive content for women.
One of the goals of “She Envisions” is to develop a scholarship portal exclusively for women in STEM where girls and women can access consolidated information about scholarships related to STEM and generally for women, thus making it more accessible to female students. I’ve already created a prototype of the front end for the portal and am continuously learning new skills to begin work on the back end.
This will address the gap in information dissemination and providing women with resources and tools to advance their academic journey.
Through this project, I aim to and equip women with the resources they need to thrive in STEM and beyond. My project is not only making a change but also nurturing a community of change-makers.
