" Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship gives me an opportunity to bring an impact at a young age. It gives me the platform to represent the ideals I stand for and also to inform the society about how Mental Health should no longer be a taboo. I want to stand tall and bring about a transformation in people's mind in order to make them more informed individuals of the society. Millennium Fellowship I feel gives me the direction to execute my motive and help us grow our mindsets "
Millennium Fellowship Project: EmotiCore
Emoticore is my community mental health initiative for everyone at Plaksha university. Drawing from my experience with "Ehsaas" and my internship at Marbles Health, I'll start by surveying student and faculty needs to understand the gaps. I'll build a team of passionate volunteers and partner with existing campus organizations.
Our agenda includes awareness campaigns to destigmatize mental health, stress management workshops, interactive webinars featuring psychologists and healthcare professionals and peer-led support groups, mirroring the successful strategies from "Ehsaas."
I'll also work with the coding student-group to develop and use digital platforms for resource sharing and community support. This would be supported with workshops, anonymous support groups, a peer to peer help hotline and educational resources - providing everyone with insights into mental health management and self-care strategies. Additionally, I'll engage with NGOs and organizations to help faculty and staff in mental health training to foster a supportive academic environment, understanding the vital role of community in mental well-being.
With the Emoticore team, we’ll secure support by presenting our plans to university administrators and founders. I also plan to continuously evaluate and adapt our initiatives, with discussions from my mentors from the Millennium Fellowship.
I hope Emoticore can make a meaningful difference by meeting essential emotional and mental health needs on my campus.
