Millennium Fellowship Project: Visión Solidaria: Fortaleciendo La Participación

"Vision Solidaria" was a university social responsibility project that accessed a university funding grant. Its objective was to politically empower members of the National Union of the Blind of Peru through the development of workshops on collective action and institutions that enable social participation.

About the Millennium Fellow

Facundo Garcia is a young university student of Political Science. Since he was a child, he has been characterized by his curiosity, sense of justice, and interest in the reality around him. In 2019, Facundo joined the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú because he found this educational center aligned with his humanistic and political values. Today, his career has allowed him to understand the workings of politics beyond the traditional institutions of government. Thus, in his understanding, politics, especially democratic politics, is a way of life that finds its operational basis in the functioning of society and collective action with respect to government bodies. Facundo aspires to develop projects in which the civil society of his country is empowered and finds the raison d'être of democracy in itself rather than in traditional political actors. In this way, he finds a central connection in addressing the reduction of inequalities and the development of alliances in order to improve the functioning of the national political system.
