United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Talleres de Economía y Derechos Humanos

We teach kids introductory concepts about economy and human rights in schools in order to empower them to work for sustainable development and justice.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sofía Terrones is a passionate advocate for social impact, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to meaningful change. As a finalist for the SDG Global Gamechangers Award 2024, organized by UNDP and ITU, she has co-founded Athena, an AI-powered platform offering free legal advice. She serves as a Youth Parliamentarian for the Amazonas region, was selected as a 2024 Millennium Fellow, and is a Fellow at the Institute for Youth in Policy. Her dedication to leadership and social development extends through her active participation in organizations such as the Latin American Leadership Academy and Consecuencia Agentes de Cambio. Additionally, she co-founded The Hope for Change and UNCIRE, and volunteers for Sin Tabúes, while serving as a Youth Ambassador for HundrED and the International Baccalaureate Organization. Her journey is deeply intertwined with youth-driven initiatives aimed at creating lasting social impact and empowering future generations.
