" I am excited to be part of the Millennium Fellowship class of 2024. I have always been passionate about putting my knowledge to work for others, especially in the field of education. I am confident that with the tools that this program developed by professionals and young people who have made such a difference in their communities I will be able to do the same for my own community. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Tax: Pequeños contribuyentes
It is a pilot program in which teachers and a law student from the best law school in the country (PUCP Law School) teach in 4 sessions the basic concepts of tax law to high school students from a public school named "I. E. La Divina Providencia". The objective was for the students to learn the principles of tax law in our Constitution, the types of income that exist, the procedures and the tax authorities, and the rights and duties of citizens with respect to the payment of taxes. The program included a look at the problems surrounding taxation in Peru with a focus on combating tax evasion and tax avoidance. Although this was a first pilot edition of the program, the idea is to extend this training to more schools in the coming years. Our goal is to contact the Ministry of Education in Peru to adapt this program to the school curriculum.
