UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT SUSMITA KHADKA, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2024.
Purbanchal University | Biratnagar, Nepal | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 6

" "Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely." This quote by Auguste Rodin is what makes me excited about Millennium Fellow. The ultimate door towards creative and problem-solving skills with logical sessions is what I am looking forward to experiencing from the Millennium Fellowship. My work always waters me and reminds me to be kind, generous, and gentle to the world and myself. To contribute to the SDGs is an opportunity to establish a better version of myself. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project : "CUT"
Our project name is "CUT." Cut, the title sounds quite confusing. Let me explain the meaning behind the project name we arranged for such a wonderful opportunity. Since, our project dwells around the area of menstrual health, specifically focusing on the psychological aspect of menstruation restriction put by our Nepalese Society, the name "Cut" immediately clicked. "Cut" means all those cuts, and wounds our sisters, daughters, and mothers had to go through because of the restrictions they were put under. Meanwhile, "CUT implies it is high time now that we women along with the help of men should cut these chains of restrictions to introduce a breakthrough in the menstrual world. Therefore, the project "CUT empowers everyone to participate in helping the liberation of women from imposed menstrual restrictions.
About the Millennium Fellow
Susmita Khadka believes that one doesn't have to be perfect to experience things. The person who collects experiences is the biggest collection to flex. With this mindset, Susmita, a passionate law student joined the Kathmandu School of Law affiliated with Purwanchal University. She was born in Khotang, currently resides in Lalitpur, and attends a university in Bhaktapur. Susmita first discovered that it only takes one step or one man to initiate positive societal change when she tried to move a huge boulder from a blocked road that was double her size. Seeing a tiny kid trying to free the road while putting her bag aside knowing that she was already late for school, summoned all the people around there. This incident was the fuel that drove her to help and make an impact. Therefore, she decided that with proper guidance she could bring and experience change and contribute to The SDGs and joined the class of Millennium Fellowship.
