Millennium Fellowship Project: Sustainable Plates
Sustainable plates is a group project led by six Millennium fellows ; Shanzay Shakoori, Amna Rehan, Amber Zahra , Minahil Rehaman , Hira kanwal and Saffa Amjad. This project tackles the food insecure regions in Pakistan. The project aims to create a broader impact by collaborating with multiple food providing organizations. Our project will focus on three key dimensions: raising awareness through sessions with university students about healthy and balanced diets, collaborating with local organizations to mitigate food wastage in our community, and conducting research on the impacts of climate change on agriculture in Pakistan, along with exploring potential alternatives for sustainable agricultural practices. Our aim is to engage the younger generation, encouraging them to be more vigilant about their diets and Ensuring food security across the regions of Pakistan.
About the Millennium Fellow
Amna Rehan is a young, curious mind who loves to explore different opportunities,
always eager to learn and determined to take a strong stance on solving global issues.
Born, raised, and currently residing in Lahore, Pakistan, she truly embodies the spirit of
a global citizen. Amna has always been passionate about child development,
education, and working towards the betterment of society, with a focus on intellectual
empowerment. She has consistently been vocal about social problems, international
conflicts, and human discrimination. Amna has played a significant role in organizing
international conferences at her institute and is deeply committed to fostering the
intellectual growth of students. She is always keen to seize opportunities for self-
improvement, to seek better prospects, and to contribute her best efforts towards
achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
