" Being a Millennium Fellow fills me with
enthusiasm as I get to work alongside
individuals who share my passion, for
creating a difference. I strongly believe in the ability of working to bring about
changes and this fellowship offers an ideal
opportunity to transform concepts into
practical solutions. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Millennium Lights

"The project is to install solar lights at Qatar
University, we're going to set up these special lights that use solar panels to capture sunlight during the day and store that energy in batteries.
When it gets dark, the lights automatically turn on and muminate ine panways and outings
around campus. It's like having our own little sun-powered lighting system that not only makes the university look beautiful at night but also enhances safety for everyone walking around, reducing our reliance on traditional electricity sources, which is great for the environment. Plus. it's a cost-effective solution in the long run as we'll be saving on electricity bills.
By leading the way in adopting solar technology.
Qatar University has the potential to inspire other institutions to consider similar projects. This initiative could spark a trend towards greater sustainability in campus infrastructure across the region, creating a ripple effect that benefits the environment and the community as a whole.
Ultimately, if Qatar University embraces solar lights, it will not only improve its own campus environment but also position itself as a trailblazer in sustainable practices, encouraging other institutions to join in and collectively make a positive impact on the environment."
