Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowering the Transgender Community through Legal Awareness
This project aims to educate and empower transgender individuals in Pakistan through legal rights awareness and literacy. The Khwaja Sira (transgender) community in Pakistan faces significant social exclusion, limited access to formal education, and scarce employment opportunities, with many forced into informal and marginalized work. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education), 5 (Gender Equality), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities), providing essential support for a neglected section of society.
About the Millennium Fellow
Saif Ur Rehman is an intelligent, youthful, and enthusiastic law undergraduate at the Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He resides in Attock, Pakistan, and is currently studying in Islamabad, Pakistan. Saif is passionate about research and individual civil rights. He is interested in developing an understanding of one’s rights and raising such awareness in society. During his academic career, Saif has participated in various research and community engagement initiatives and intends to continue his work in the future with a more polished skill-set. Saif seeks to participate in more of these initiatives where he can improve his abilities and contribute to the effort in more meaningful ways.
