" As a survivor of mental illness, mental wellness for society is deeply important to me because it represents not only personal healing but also collective progress. Promoting mental wellness fosters a compassionate, supportive environment where individuals can thrive, reduces stigma, and ensures that others have access to the resources and understanding that were pivotal in my own journey towards recovery and more interesting Engaging in ecotherapy will allow people to reconnect with nature, finding solace and renewal in the natural world, which in turn fosters deeper mental wellness and resilience "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Mother Nature Mental Wellness Hub
Mother Nature Mental Wellness Hub is a project that wants to normalise the habit of seeking mental check up and make it an habit to have regular mental check ups in efforts to remove the stigma associated with mental sicknesses and problems
About the Millennium Fellow
Bishamba Awori Athman is a young commited and self drive international relations and diplomacy student at Riara University, Nairobi, Kenya. She was Born in Machakos County but currently resides in Nairobi County, Kenya. Both personal and social exposure to life situations are what motivated her to advocating for an alternative approach to mental wellness and adoption of an eco friendly treatment. Recently, a famous actress in my country lost her daughter through suicide, word has it that the girl took her life because her mother was harsh towards her, the mother in a span of one year, she has lost several loved ones, and we understand how grief can take a toll on someone, here is a grieving mother with a youth in her experimental years. Bishamba can't help it but wonder, had they both gotten mental awareness and wellness check early enough could the story have been different today, could the daughter still have been alive today. It is the dream and desire for Bishamba to be proffesionally engaged in a change making movement, and help the United Nations in attaining it's sustainable goal of Good Health and Weel-Being.
