Millennium Fellowship Project: Bright Horizons: Empowering Education in Kenya

Bright Horizons: Empowering Education in Kenya is a project intended to assist young people in underprivileged communities in Kenya overcome the obstacles they face in accessing quality education. Providing academic support, mentorship, along with essential academic resources to children who do not have access to these opportunities is the primary objective of this project. The project also seeks to advocate for policy reforms that can enhance the educational system and increase awareness of the importance of inclusive education.

About the Millennium Fellow

Libna Lassie is an industrious and driven International Relations and Diplomacy student at Riara University in Nairobi, Kenya. Growing up, she merely received the best education at good schools unfamiliar with the trammels of education. As she continued to pursue her lifely goals, she discovered the potential the children and youth in her country acquire but unfortunately most do not have the necessary resources and opportunities to obtain quality education. This sparked a desire to make a change especially with children in underserved communities in her country. Libna wholeheartedly desires to make meaningful long-term change to ensure every child, regardless of their background receives quality and exceptional education. She is a firm believer that education is a right and not a privilege, and every child should have a chance to create a future for themselves and make positive changes within their communities.
