" From a very young age, I have been exposed to societal challenges and how people overcome them with whatever little they have in life. This made an impact on how I grew up and saw things as the world developed. Understanding societal issues and peoples problems took a while and I wanted to do something that could help the environment around me. The Millennium Fellowship is an opportunity that pushed me to do what is best for society and I am excited to work on some imporatant changes with my fellow peers. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Shielded Support Project

My project revolves around empowering and strengthening the rights of women household help in India. They are usually verbally and physically abused and paid a little sum after toling for hours. Most times they are mentally exhausted and have no power to step up and voice their concerns. My project attempts to bridge this gap and ensure that they are aware of their rights and are more aware of their surroundings.
