" Quality education is a stepping stone to a free future, and it should never become a stumbling block in a child's life. Every child should have the right to pursue a future with more choices. Questions are more valuable than answers, methods more important than knowledge, and trust more significant than help. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Why Quality Education?

I joined the Shanghai Adream Charitable Organization, a local public organization approved by the Shanghai Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau in 2008. My primary responsibility is managing the "Dream Coach Programme," the Organization's most significant fieldwork task aside from public fundraising. With the aim of improving the quality of education for frontline teachers, over 70 teams are recruited each year to travel to impoverished areas of China, where they teach and provide systematic guidance to local school teachers, introducing them to new educational ideas and methods.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sichun Wang is an inclusive, energetic individual with a nurturing demeanor. Born and raised in Shanghai, China, she has spent her entire adult life there, yet she maintains friendships worldwide, having attended international schools. Her passion for political science, philosophy, and art history led her to study at Sciences Po, and she will continue her education at UC Berkeley to complete her dual program, deepening her understanding of the human environment in Europe and North America. Sichun is deeply committed to her children's education, particularly its quality. She is dedicated to addressing the disparities in access to quality education for children in remote areas, striving for a fairer, more practical, and diverse educational landscape.
