" Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will surround me with other individuals who share the same level of passion as me, and I truly believe that long term change is almost impossible to be done individually, but with others around me, it can lead onto ripple effect that can positively impact my community in the long term "

Millennium Fellowship Project: CROUScycle

We approach student events off campus (mostly parties) to offer recycling services in exchange for a small donation which is given to an environmental NGO or to fund other project activities. As for what we have already done: we implemented a system of recycling at three student events in Le Havre
whom we had reached out to prior to the event. These included an "Apparthaton," a large-scale night of house parties coordinated across the city by students from our school, a Halloween party, as well as a friend’s birthday celebration party. At each event, we organized waste-sorting and recycling activities the following morning after the event, providing an environmentally friendly service which we hoped also helped to raise awareness. In return for our services, we collected a small token fee based on what they were willing to pay us, which we donated to an environmental
charity, in this case flood relief in Valencia, and reinvested the remaining into the project to sustain its efforts.

About the Millennium Fellow

Timothy is a committed and empathetic student majoring in Politics and Government at Sciences Po. He was born and raised in Singapore but is currently residing in Le Havre, France for his undergraduate studies. He is passionate about serving his community, and more importantly to serve the community in a way that leads to a better outcome for all of humanity. This includes various social causes, but in recent years he has developed a keen interest in environmental issues, and is a strong advocate for making global change from the ground up.
