Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Neeru : A WaterWise Bengaluru
Project Neeru aligns with SDGs 6,13 and 14 by developing strategies to improve water conservation and access in resource-challenged areas of Bengaluru. It addresses water scarcity through lake rejuvenation projects and rainwater harvesting initiatives. Collaborating with NGOs based in Bengaluru, the team works on surveying encroached lakes, rejuvenating water bodies, constructing recharge pits, and fundraising efforts involving corporate partnerships. The project aims to explore the root causes of water scarcity and its redressal measures.
About the Millennium Fellow
R Drithi Chandru is a finance student pursuing a BBA at Symbiosis International University, Bengaluru. Being born and brought up in Bengaluru, she is passionate about creating social impact, particularly in the field of education for the underprivileged. A social and interactive individual, she thrives on engaging with thought-provoking ideas and actively seeks solutions to social challenges.
Her dedication to community development is closely tied to her desire to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in breaking down barriers to education. Through volunteering and advocacy, she strives to address social inequities. Drithi sees the Millennium Fellowship as a valuable opportunity to expand her impact, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and work towards a more inclusive and equitable society.
