" Being a Millennium Fellow will allow me to connect with like-minded individuals who are driven to tackle social causes and make a positive impact in the world. In doing so, it will provide a platform for me to exchange ideas and models of change that will help me grow as an individual. This, for me, is an opportunity to make a difference in something that I believe in. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Kalike

Project Kalike attempts to break down barriers and make it easy for everyone to access knowledge and resources. It contributes to the 4th Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations: Quality Education. Kalike, is the Kannada word for ‘learn’, highlighting how the goals of this project are centred around this word. Project Kalike aspires to inspire others to take on the role of tutors for school-going students, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, to foster a stream of information and experience. To effectively teach, upskilling one’s communication and knowledge is important, and can be done so by participating in workshops and courses in teaching methodologies and educational psychology. Project Kalike also runs as a blog, platforming science-backed articles in simple language to help students learn and study more efficiently. Last but not least, Project Kalike fosters a community of giving, encouraging giving stationery to children who might not be able to afford it.
