" Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will awaken my hidden leadership skills that I hid due to timidity. Also I'm eager to network and make new friends while learning and gaining new insights from my peers. I have a liking towards the social work because of the impact and touching lives of other people. "

About the Millennium Fellow
Joan Watahi Maina is a Law student at Strathmore University in Kenya. She has recalled one of the main reasons she joined law school was my eagerness to help in the eradication of illiteracy. She was sure the skills she was going to be taught will help her in impacting the society in a positive way. She believes education helps individuals in attaining what they strive to be in life. The society can be a better place by joining hands and helping each other.
