" I am delighted to be a Millennium Fellow, as it enables me to further my passion for environmental sustainability and campaign against pollution. My concern for the human environment, sparked by learning about ozone layer depletion and climate change, has grown into a resolve to protect the environment which is the source of our planet's economic resources and foundation of human health.
Through knowledge of sustainability, I have seen the devastating impact of pollution and I am driven to contribute meaningfully to the preservation and protection of the environment. I am excited as I believe that through this “United Nations Academic Impact and Millennium Campus Network” program, I will be able to increase my competence in my chosen field and be granted a bigger opportunity for social impact as a Millennium Fellow. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Global Health Guardians
My project, Global Health Guardians, focuses on educating and empowering young people to become active leaders in protecting planetary health. The project involves raising awareness about the interconnectedness of human health, climate change, and environmental sustainability. It aims to engage high school students in understanding the importance of taking care of the planet for the well-being of future generations.
Through school visits, educational campaigns, and hands-on activities like climate change seminars and sanitation drives, the project encourages students to actively participate in solutions. By integrating environmental and health education into their daily lives, students learn about the roles they can play in combating climate change, reducing pollution, and fostering sustainability.
The project also includes providing schools with cleaning and sanitation supplies and fostering community partnerships to amplify the message. Ultimately, Global Health Guardians aims to equip youth with the knowledge, tools, and mindset to become changemakers in their communities, making informed decisions to protect both human health and the planet’s ecosystems.
