" Through my work, I aim to find solutions that empower communities most affected by climate and environmental issues. Being part of the Millennium Fellowship offers me the exciting opportunity to learn new skills and different solutions that could help me achieve this goal. I am looking forward to joining this prestigious network and exchanging ideas and knowledge with fellows across the world. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Tiny Forests

Our project ‘Tiny Forests’ aims to create a micro forest on UCL East campus as it would improve air quality, engage the student and local community through hands-on environmental stewardship, and increase greater biodiversity on our urban university campus. We have chosen the UCL East campus for this project as there is more space on the site, to draw students to the new site, and to improve environmental quality in Stratford, a deprived area of London.

About the Millennium Fellow

Anjali Raman-Middleton is a driven student at UCL studying Politics and International Relations. She is incredibly passionate about social and environmental justice, truly believing that we cannot achieve one without the other. This passion drove her to co-found Choked Up, a campaign started by black and brown high schoolers in London to strengthen clean air legislation and ensure everyone has the right to breathe clean air. Through this campaign she has worked with London City Hall, US State Department, and C40 Cities to create clean air policy that protects marginalized communities disproportionately exposed to air pollution.
