" I do the work that I do because we don’t have a choice. The climate crisis is here. So many people in my generation are terrified for our collective future, so taking action is the only way we can feel in control of our futures. We need to do this, because no one else will. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Tiny Forests

Our project ‘Tiny Forests’ aims to create a micro forest on UCL East campus as it would improve air quality, engage the student and local community through hands-on environmental stewardship, and increase greater biodiversity on our urban university campus. We have chosen the UCL East campus for this project as there is more space on the site, to draw students to the new site, and to improve environmental quality in Stratford, a deprived area of London.

About the Millennium Fellow

Anoushka Jain is pursuing a degree in Politics and International Relations at University College London. She is a strong advocate for reducing disparities in sustainable development, and believes that sustainability needs to be more accessible, particularly for vulnerable populations. As such, she is working on a way to help these populations to create and implement their own self-developled, community-based solutions that meet their local needs.
