Millennium Fellowship Project: Beat Cancer Together
My initial projects were Good Education and Campaign against Malaria. Which i did in collaboration with kwara state medical students association in my school. Due to lack of funding I had to do that collaboration since myself is from Kwara state. Fortunately, we were provided with materials which ranges from Rapid Diagnostic Test for Hepatitis and Malaria to reagents for carrying out blood group and blood sugar by Loma hospital sokoto. They funded our project and we were alble to carry out a medical outreach to over 150 students of Usmanu Danfodiyo university sokoto and over 100 people living in rural area of sokoto. With the outreach most of this people were able to know their hepatitis and malaria status, which were able to provide malaria drugs to some of them.. Later on as I lost my Dad to Prostate cancer, my goal shifted to cancer, I began to create awareness on cancer on why people have to go to hospital to check their status. Since if early detected, cancer can be beaten to some extent. Being a Biomedical Student, now my area of interest is Cancer, and I will continue to create awareness and making research on cancer, ranging from prostate, breast to cervical cancer. To God be the glory, due to awareness I created, I was able to convince people on the need to go to hospital for check up frequently.
