United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Being selected as a fellow mean a lot as it will provide me the foundational framework of addressing these problems one at a time. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Breath Free Nigeria

This project, titled Breath Free NG, is a tuberculosis (TB) awareness and outreach initiative aimed at combating the rising prevalence of TB within communities. Our strategy incorporates a multi-phase approach: online campaigns, mass media outreach, medical outreaches, and connecting TB-positive individuals to healthcare centers.

About the Millennium Fellow

Mohammedawal Onoruoyiza Ibrahim is an energetic Year 4 medical laboratory science student with a passion for sustainable agriculture. Aspiring to create ventures that add value to Nigeria, he is also deeply committed to education, a commitment that led him to serve as the Assistant Academic Director of his discipline's student association. He hopes to pursue a master’s and PhD in Molecular Biology in the UK. Equipped with insights from the Millennium Fellowship, Mohammedawal hopes to contribute his quota towards the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals 2,3 and 13, aiming to make a meaningful impact in both science and society.
