United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: RISEN STEM Initiative

The RISEN STEM Inititiative is an initiative that aims to empower and inspire young girls and to fuel their passion for careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This initiative aims to achieve this by exposing to girls the vast variety of career paths and opportunities available for them in STEM and also provide for them resources, mentorship opportunities, and other support netrworks that will enable them thrive.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ajara Asogla'ara Abdul-Rahaman is a young, passionate, and goal-driven Ghanaian woman. She is currently a student at the University of Ghana where she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology and Nutrition. Driven by a growth mindset, she is always open to learning and seizes everyday as opportunity improve upon herself. Ajara is passionate about gender equality and women empowerment. She is a STEM enthusiast is committed to inspiring young girls and igniting their passion for STEM. One of her biggest hopes is that, in the near future, there would be an equal representation of men and women in all aspects of society especially in STEM.
