" "I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it empowers me to collaborate with passionate individuals who share a vision for positive change. As we work together to uplift our communities, I am reminded that "the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." This experience fuels my commitment to making a meaningful impact, one person at a time." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Antimicrobial Resistance And Mental Awareness

My project of which am the leader focuses on the critical issues of antibiotic use and antimicrobial resistance- (AMR). Antimicrobial resistance is a phenomenon where bacteria evolve and develop resistance to the drugs designed to kill them. Antibiotics have played a pivotal role in modern medicine, revolutionizing the treatment of bacterial infections and saving countless lives. However, their widespread and indiscriminate use has led to the emergence of AMR (antimicrobial resistance). As a matter of fact, my project aims to mainly create awareness of antimicrobial resistance starting from University of Ghana -Legon campus which is already ongoing. I do this by promoting antibiotic stewardship and public education, seminars , establishing a robust surveillance system to monitor antibiotic use and resistance patterns and international collaboration between countries to address AMR on a global scale which is eventually of the long term goal.
