United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship program this 2024 will better connect me with like-minded comrades around the world, which will make my network Large and more viable in giving back to the world. This Millennium Fellowship program will further enhance my leadership ability in making impactful engagement for the sustainability of the Earth we love so dearly as emerging Environmentalists. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Say No To Drugs

Drug use, including Kush, zombie, and cocaine, is a serious issue Liberia, a West African country, is trying to overcome. Following fourteen years of civil conflict, Liberia faces a youth drug problem, with devastating consequences for individuals and the country as a whole. This national issue requires our urgent and serious consideration. Therefore, this project aims to bridge the knowledge gap among youths in secondary school about the harmful effects of drugs have on their physical health. The “SAY NO TO DRUGS ABUSE” project aims to educate 10,000 secondary school students on the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals and society.

About the Millennium Fellow

William Varney Vanjah is an astute, energetic, unbending leader, Stewart of the Vanguard Students Unification Party (SUP-UL), and emerging Environmentalist Scientist. He was born in rural Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia who currently resides in the capital of Monrovia. He is currently attending on the Fendall campus and majoring Environmental Science at University of Liberia. William has served as a classroom teacher, health educator, Child advocate, Climate Activist, a peer educator and presently a speaker of science college, and President-elect of the department of Environmental Science students association, University of Liberia. Engaging in off campus activities, William is a CEO/Founder of AquaCare Alliance and Wetlands Resilience Trust of Liberia (AQUALERT-LIBERIA). AQUALERT-LIBERIA is a group on water, sanitation and Wetlands ecosystem conservation. With his engagements with water and Wetlands activism, he has developed interest in Environmental sustainability through water cooperation and diplomacy, water resource management, and wetlands conservation practices in ensuring the United Nations sustainable development goals. William strives in getting additional knowledge on sustainability in giving back to his community, society, country and the world at large.
