About the Millennium Fellow
Joshua Dery is a BSc Renewable Energy Engineering student at the University of Mines and Technology in Tarkwa, Ghana. Joshua is deeply passionate about leveraging solar technology to drive sustainable development and improve global health and education. His keen interest in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) specifically focuses on SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
Joshua believes that access to reliable and clean energy can significantly enhance healthcare services and educational opportunities in underserved communities. By implementing solar energy solutions, he aims to power health facilities, ensuring they have a stable and sustainable energy source for critical medical equipment and services. Additionally, Joshua advocates for the use of solar energy to provide electricity to schools, enabling better learning environments and access to digital educational resources.
Through his projects, Joshua hopes to make a tangible impact on the health and education sectors, contributing to improved quality of life and learning outcomes. After graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in renewable energy systems, continuing his work in advancing solar technologies to support global health and education initiatives.
As a Millennium Fellow, Joshua is excited to collaborate with like-minded individuals and drive innovative solutions that align with the SDGs, fostering a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
