" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it's a chance to work with others who care about making a difference. I do what I do because I believe that small steps, like improving recycling in my community, can lead to big changes for our future. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: General Awareness On Waste Recycling

This project focuses on promoting sustainable waste management practices in Nigeria by raising awareness about the importance of recycling. Through a series of virtual seminar sessions on Telegram, participants were educated on key principles like reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting (rot). The goal was to inspire behavioral change, encourage community involvement, and reduce waste through practical and actionable tips.
By connecting with participants, sharing success stories, and addressing challenges in waste management, the project aimed to empower individuals and communities to adopt sustainable practices that contribute to cleaner neighborhoods and environmental preservation.
This initiative aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13: Climate Action), fostering a culture of sustainability and reducing the negative impacts of waste on the planet.
