About the Millennium Fellow
Favour Aiwanose Eraikhuemen is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Benin, actively pursuing a degree in Medicine and Surgery. As a passionate advocate for public health, Favour has engaged in initiatives aimed at combating hypertension within her community in Evbuomore, Nigeria. Her drive stems from personal experiences, particularly witnessing her grandmother's struggles with hypertension, which has fueled her determination to make a tangible impact on health awareness and management.
Favour is the Founder of the Hypertension Awareness Initiative, where she leads educational campaigns and community health screenings to raise awareness and promote healthier lifestyles. Her project has positively impacted hundreds of individuals, with plans to reach even more through strategic partnerships with local healthcare providers and NGOs.
In addition to her work on hypertension, Favour serves as the Campus Representative for the Emerging Leaders' Forum (ELF) at the University of Benin Medical Students' Association (UBEMSA). In this role, she represents and supports fellow students, ensuring they have access to resources and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
As the Class Representative for the MED200 set, Favour brings the same level of dedication and leadership that she demonstrates in her other roles. Her tenure is marked by a commitment to empathy, humility, and inclusivity, ensuring that the voices of her peers are heard and valued. This role, much like her other leadership positions, is a testament to her unwavering dedication to the well-being and success of her community.
As a Millennium Fellow, Favour aims to leverage this prestigious platform to enhance her impact on public health initiatives, further her advocacy for better healthcare access, and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her.
