" I see the need to play a role in ensuring the generation yet unborn grows in a safe environment. I am dedicated in my quest to ensure that early pregnancy and teenage pregnancy is reduced to a considerable level. I cannot undermine the role I get to play by being a millennium fellow. I am super excited and I anticipate working with other persons with similar interests. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: A Safer Tomorrow

There's a need to emphasize a safer future for the children. I am pained when I see single teen mothers struggling to cater to children they had no plan to have. The stigmatization that accompanies it, the psychological effect (on both mother and child), and children growing up without a father figure. I have had the opportunity to relate with persons trained by a single mother, I have observed that they grew up without love, with the alarming rate of unwanted teenage pregnancy, picture a world that has adults who grew up with a parental figure or a single parent and how they will relate with persons around them. The mothers (teenagers) are not spared, you can imagine having a child at 14/15. Education will be cut short except there will be efforts to return to school. Also, there will be stigmatization on return to school. Teenage pregnancy is harsh. It is along this line of thinking that I have decided to undertake a project to tackle teenage pregnancy. I believe that if there is public enlightenment on the inherent dangers of teenage pregnancy a double consideration will be made as regards decisions on sexual health and activities. My project is about teenage pregnancy awareness, public sensitization, school children (teenagers).
