UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT MOSES ADEKUNLE ADETORO, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2024.
University of Benin | Benin City, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 9, SDG 1, SDG 8, SDG 9 & UNAI 1

" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it aligns perfectly with my passion for making a significant impact in the world through health advocacy and education. As an optometry student at the University of Benin, I have dedicated myself to raising essential health awareness, which can save lives every minute. My commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) is evident through my co-founding of PANMAA, a health advocacy brand that strives to educate and empower communities.
Being a Millennium Fellow would provide me with the platform to amplify my efforts, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and gain the skills and knowledge needed to scale my impact. I am eager to learn, share, and grow within this community, and I believe that together, we can create a healthier, more equitable world. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: MedicPreneur
Medical students often find it difficult or almost impossible to merge business activities with academic pursuits. MedicPreneur is here to bridge that gap, offering tailored support to three key groups:
1. Aspiring Entrepreneurs: For medical students who don't have any business or skills at hand and are looking to start one but are unsure how to begin. They may be scared of having to choose between academic excellence and entrepreneurial success. MedicPreneur makes it possible to merge these two pursuits and achieve both.
2. Current Entrepreneurs: For those who already have businesses and seek guidance on how to maximize their potential and reach their zenith, even as medical students.
3. Newly Graduated Doctors: Recognizing that medical schools teach medicine, not business, we provide essential entrepreneurial activities and business ideas to be incorporated into their health establishments.
Our Offerings:
- Workshops and Training: Specialized sessions covering business planning, financial management, and leadership.
- Mentorship Programs: Connecting students with experienced entrepreneurs and healthcare professionals for guidance and support.
- Networking Opportunities: Platforms for networking with industry leaders, investors, and fellow innovators.
- Project Development: Support for student-led projects addressing real-world healthcare issues.
MedicPreneur Academy:
We run an academy where students can learn essential entrepreneurial skills, ensuring they are well-equipped to innovate and lead in the healthcare sector.
Our Reach:
MedicPreneur already has members and is established in 8 African countries, including Nigeria, Rwanda, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Cameroon.
