Millennium Fellowship Project: Mind Your Mind
Sustainable Development Goal 3 addresses Health and Wellbeing. Mental health is an aspect of health that is often neglected especially in this part of the world. Mental health advocacy and awareness seek to address all issues that forms barricades against people seeking help on time
About the Millennium Fellow
Benita Obot is an undergraduate in Public Health with passion to build a healthy and sustainable world. In her Impact journery, as the President of the Youth Friendly Hub at the University of Calabar, spearheaded various successful projects such as the promotion of cashless policies and digital literacy in rural market women. Benita is also a staunch gender equity advocate, being part of campaigns that oppose all forms of sexual harassment and gender-based violence within the university.
She was a recipient of the UNICEF scholarship to 2024 National HIV Prevention Conference earned by outstanding contributions and work in HIV Prevention. Her sustainability project, "Eco Sustainable Future," has earned her the UPG Sustainability Leader distinction. As part of the 2023 Orange Women Fellowship, she contributed to a book on Feminism. Benita lives by the philosophy, "I am the change I want to see," and strives to make a considerable impact in the world.
