About the Millennium Fellow
Jemimah Kure is a bright and dedicated medical student at the University of Jos; currently in her clinical training level. She was born and brought up in the northern part of Nigeria. As someone who grew up in the northern part of the country, she has seen and understands the areas where the SDGs come in handy for the people. She's always been passionate about girl child education and empowerment; and most importantly she's been at the forefront of mental health advocacy in Nigeria- beginning from her immediate community. This drive has translated itself into Jemimah's quest for mental health knowledge. She's attended various seminars on mental health promotion. She's also volunteered with a few organizations to push for mental health awareness. She's been invited for talks relating to the issues of mental health neglect. She's since rendered her voice to this course and she hopes to be a professional in this field- hence her dream of specializing in psychiatry- where she can cultivate these advocacies further and contribute more in the development of the United Nations' Sustainable Goals.
