Millennium Fellowship Project: Weight Of The Clinical Coat
The Weight of the White Coat explores the mental health and wellbeing of medical students, examining the pressures and challenges that come with wearing the symbolic white coat. This project aims to understand the struggles and coping mechanisms of medical students, ultimately informing strategies to support their mental health and resilience.
Measurable Goals (August-December 2024):
1. Conduct surveys and interviews with at least 100 medical students to gather data on their mental health experiences and challenges.
2. Analyze and present findings in a research paper or presentation by October 2024.
3. Develop and implement a pilot wellness program or workshop for medical students, focusing on stress management and self-care, by November 2024.
4. Collaborate with at least two medical schools or organizations to share research findings and best practices for supporting medical students' mental health.
5. Publish a blog post or article summarizing key findings and recommendations for medical educators and administrators by December 2024
About the Millennium Fellow
Ikenye Joseph is an inquisitive Medical student from the prestigious college of Medicine, University of Lagos. He was born and resides in Nigeria, more specifically Lagos state. For as long as I can remember, he's someone who finds joy in creating an impact in everything as much as possible. Trying to improve the situation of things and people's lives around. From day to day student's interaction and on a more grand scale, being the forefront, volunteering in community organizations trying as much as possible to build a community where everyone thrives.
