Millennium Fellowship Project: Literacy Lift Off
Literacy Lift Off
My Objective was to enhance the literacy skills and general knowledge of junior secondary school students through an engaging and competitive program.
Project Overview:
The Literacy Lift Off project aimed to improve the spelling and general knowledge abilities of junior secondary school students. The program consisted of preparation sessions, a competition, and an award ceremony for the winners.
This event took place for three weeks , where it went through series of stages before the eventual competition day.
Key Components:
- Preparation sessions: Students received guidance and support to enhance their spelling and general knowledge skills.
- Competition: Students participated in a competitive event that tested their spelling and general knowledge abilities.
- Award ceremony: Winners were recognized and rewarded for their achievements.
Impact:
The Literacy Lift Off project promoted literacy development, healthy competition, and academic excellence among GDSS GBAGBA junior secondary school students.
About the Millennium Fellow
Firdaus Oyindamola Bello is a bright, young woman, who is hungry for more knowledge about leadership roles on how to help others.she is currently studying counsellor Education at the university of Ilorin .She was born in Lagos,Nigeria .For as she could remember,Firdaus has always thrive at wanting better for her community, organising summer lessons to help children be better in their academics.This need of hers translate from the popular adage "catch them", .
Futhermore, Firdaus, during her senior secondary school days was part of the president of the press club that introduced reading and writing competition weekly in school which enhances her peers vantage on those skills. This was the start of her leadership role which she plans to continue in future. Firdaus plans to be in a professional field whe she can help people through counselling and also provide her own contribution to the development of United Nations'sustainable Goals.
