Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Heart-Check
Project Heart-Check is a social awareness campaign aimed at combating hypertension in underserved communities. The project educates people on the causes, symptoms, prevention, and management of high blood pressure, with a focus on creating awareness through digital platforms, radio outreach, and physical campaigns. By targeting teens, young adults, adults, and seniors, it promotes regular blood pressure monitoring and connects individuals to accessible healthcare services. Through the #GetChecked initiative, the project seeks to empower individuals with knowledge and encourage proactive health management.
About the Millennium Fellow
Isaac Olaoye is a senior year pharmacy student at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Born in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, Isaac is passionate about social change, particularly through enabling sustainable policy and raising social awareness. His project aims to foster social change by creating awareness within his local community about the diagnosis, treatment, and management of hypertension. After graduation, Isaac plans to pursue a master’s degree in AI-based drug discovery and optimization.
