United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Her Voice Matters Lagos Chapter

Her Voice Matters LAGOS CHAPTER is a cohort project led by the campus director Esther Uzoigwe. Her Voice Matters focuses on guiding and equipping the minds young girls with the knowledge and resources they need to take control of their future and their bodies. The project focuses on engaging with middle and high school girls to help them overcome gender stereotypes and achieve their fullest potential. During the Millennium Fellowshio period (August - November 2024), the project Her Voice Matters will host about 5+ simultaneous sessions at different states in Nigeria with fellows visiting middle and high schools to engage them in conversations on goal setting and sexual education. These sessions will be a blend of video projections, Q&A and interactions. We are aiming to reach about 200-300 girls across Nigeria.

About the Millennium Fellow

Akilaya Timileyin Aaron,is a young humanitarian and and advocate I have volunteered in many organisations including Nigerian Red Cross society,Voice against Rape and Sexual Harassment..The reason for my voluntary service is to see that we all have a society or Community that is safe for all and brings about a better living,I love to learn new things and I will be glad to make impacts..
