I believe this is something that lives in the heart of any intending Millennium Fellow; hence I believe being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will help me connect with like-minded individuals while broadening my horizon to the world at large “Live it better than you found it” is a principle I try to live by and in that sense I’ll always thirst and work towards changing the world; one project at a time. Millennium Fellowship would also help me to align my actions and impact to the SDGs. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowering Agents Of Change
EMPOWERING AGENTS OF CHANGE is a project handwashing project where secondary school students of community secondary school of Ajuona Obukpa Nsukka Enugu state on the proper way to wash their hands and how it affects their health as its the first line of defense against germs and more generally, diseases.
After the tutoring a few academic supllies and materials were distributed to enable them to focus on their academics.
About the Millennium Fellow
Nwagu Ihuoma Serena is a friendly, young and motuvated pharmacy student at University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She was born in the Enugu state Nigeria, resides in Enugu, and is currently studying in Nsukka , Enugu Nigeria.
For as long as she can remember, Serena has always been passionate about making a positive change in the world through her advocacies for social justice, children's rights, global health, and well-being. This drive and Passion translated itself from Serena’s volunteering experiences in the international community through Rotary International, professional society for health economics and outcomes research and her continuous dedication to social action.
Currently in her college years, she has successfully organized various projects as an individual and also as an executive in Rotaract Club of university of Nigeria, Nsukka which through her outstanding leadership, she plans to continue in the future. Serena aspires to be in a professional field where she can grow these advocacies and be able to have a higher reach and higher impact, and provide her own contribution in the development of the United Nations' Sustainable Goals.
