Millennium Fellowship Project: Food Safety Campaign in UNN

*Project Title:* Food Safety Campaign in UNN
*Mission Statement:* To educate students and campus food vendors on the need for safe food consumption and sales on campus, ensuring a safe and healthy food environment for students, faculty, and staff on campus.
*Problem Statement:* Foodborne illnesses and safety concerns due to improper food handling, storage, and preparation practices in campus food establishments.
*Goals and Objectives:*
1. Minimize foodborne illness incidents.
2. Improve food safety knowledge among food handlers.
3. Increase student awareness about food safety practices.
*Project Components:*
1. Food Safety Training Program
2. Student Food Safety Awareness Campaign
*Sustainability and Scalability:*
1. Establish permanent food safety committee.
2. Secure ongoing funding.
3. Expand training program to other campuses.
*Risks and Challenges:*
1. Resistance from food establishments.
2. Limited resources.
3. Difficulty in engaging students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ossai Ujunwa Precious is a brilliant, smart , young and globally competitive student of the department of Food science and Technology at the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka. She was born in the on the 7th of January, 2002 at Enugu Nigeria, currently studying and resides in Ndukka, Enugu Nigeria. Precious has always been passionate and dedicated to ensuring good mental health and community involvement, this has lead to her experiences in leadership and continuous dedication to social activities. Throughout her years in college, she has been passionate and dedicated in all mental health empowerment programs which was held at the institution. She has always displayed leadership skills and ability to work effectively with a team. Being a part of the Millennium students fellowship will enable her to cultivate further in a professional field and contribute extensively in the UN SDGs
