United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sustainable Water, Environmental Education Project (SWEEP)

The aim of the project is to ensure women in the market place practice clean hygiene as they work and also to ensure the marketplace has better waste management, clean water live and work in a sanitary environment. This will need engaging of stakeholders and the council to not neglect the marketplace and ensure even the marketeers have proper systems of waste collection and disposal as well as easy access to clean water.

About the Millennium Fellow

Edward Banda is a very calm and gentle man from lusaka the capital of Zambia.He went to school at kabulonga boys secondary school where he completed his high school with very good grades.From there he went to study Environmental health at Evelyn hone college were he graduated with a merit in diploma in Environmental health and was among the top three best performing students .A year later Mr Banda went to further advance his studies by applying to the biggest university in Zambia were he is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental health. With the experience and knowledge Edward Banda has gained from both Evelyn hone and the university of Zambia Mr Banda has become an expert in environmental health related topics .he has focused more on water and sanitation during his student life and hopes to make a change in this sector because our country is currently facing major challenges in water and sanitation services. Mr Banda hopes that the services he will provide will help to enhance the quality of the water and sanitation services in Zambia and reduce water borne diseases such as cholera.
