" I am excited to interact with my fellow Millennium Fellows during this period to discuss and solve issues which directly impact our respective communities. This fellowship will most definitely broaden my mind, as I interact with people from different backgrounds, experiences and systems of thinking. I believe this opportunity help me both grow as an individual and a scientist. "

About the Millennium Fellow
Abigail Njoki Ndekei is by all means an environmentalist. Born and raised in the capital of Kenya and exposed to vast green landscapes , her awe for nature's beauty and the pipeline between food systems and climate change blossomed over the years . This intense love affair led her to choose a degree in general science, with a major in botany and a minor in zoology, at the University of Nairobi. Environmental issues, climate change, food security and community conservation have been words she has clung to since her formative years. Gardening became one of her passions in the year 2021, where she found great pride and joy in growing her own produce strictly using organic inputs and soil-loving tilling techniques. She has her eyes firmly set on contributing to solutions against impending food crises using science-backed techniques.
