" As Alexander Graham Bell noted, 'Great discoveries and improvements invariably involve the cooperation of many minds.' The Millennium Fellowship offers a platform to collaborate with like-minded peers and gain diverse perspectives on addressing pressing social challenges. I am eager to contribute to my community through impactful projects and leverage my skills to drive positive change. By joining this global network, I look forward to expanding my influence, learning from fellow changemakers, and working towards a more sustainable future. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: EcoAct : A Sustainable Solution to Waste Management

Imagine having a world where sustainable living and actions are quite literally at your fingertips. My project aims to develop an application - ECOACT - that makes sustainability and waste management practices easily accessible. With ECOACT, the questions: ""where and how do I effectively manage my waste?"", ""how can I positively contribute to my community?"", ""Can my efforts to sustainable living be tangible contributions to society, locally and globally?, are answered. The applications features enable: scheduled waste pickups, alleviating the challenges of recycling large or small items. Furthermore, the app's interactive map feature directs users to nearby recycling centers and waste disposal services. ECOACT has a 'Tree Point System,' rewarding users with 'Tree Points' for every eco-friendly action taken. These points can be accumulated and used to plant trees in deforested areas, transforming daily actions into tangible contributions to global reforestation efforts. Additionally, ECOACT has a marketplace where users can discover and purchase eco-friendly products, supporting sustainable businesses and initiatives. By organizing community outreach initiatives, I aim to create tangible opportunities for environmental education and engagement, which will serve as a touchpoint to volunteer programs, such as community clean ups, food drives and etc.
