" Access to education is an inherent entitlement for all children, and I strongly assert that global society would greatly benefit from universal availability. Challenges such as illiteracy, unemployment, and insecurity sometimes arise as a result of insufficient education. Intellectually gifted individuals may be cultivated and honed via the process of acquiring knowledge. Participating in the Millennium Fellowship 2024 will provide me with great opportunities for leadership development and meaningful interactions. It will enable me to serve as a mentor to students and facilitate my own growth. I am really enthusiastic about this program and anxious to start this voyage of personal and communal growth. I can’t wait to begin! "

Millennium Fellowship Project: HPV Awareness Project For Adolescent Girls

My cohort and I have all at one point or another been to the Kenyatta National Hospital wards. We have all witnessed a lot of cervical cancer cases causing significant morbidity and mortality to women. We felt that a significant percentage of this was very preventable and we decided to start a project that involves talking to female adolescents aged 10-13 in the KNH pediatric ward and their caregivers and teaching them easy to understand ways of preventing such.
The project entails educating them about HPV, cervical cancer and the vaccines available. We also have future plans to expand the project to schools and homes around our environment and hope to reach more women.
