Millennium Fellowship Project: I Support My Daughter

I happened to be in an organization organized by amref in samburu county in Kenya. The aim of the organization was to point out the reason why daughters of the region were not set to school and were instead married off while still very young. One of the analysis made was that their fathers did not understand the importance of educating their good daughters. I and some of my fellow cohorts decided to mobilize the fathers and campaign on the importance of educating their women ,the dangers of marrying them off without their consent and the hazards of FGM.
We have managed to move around samburu and masai region where these practices are majority practiced and we have been able to reach out to more than 100 men with the 40% of them agree to excel their girls.
