I hope to partner and collaborate and use any resources at my disposal to amplify my impact and aid others in their impact. Being a graduate of the Millennium Fellowship will also enhance my credibility and visibility which can aid in the advancement of issues I am passionate about. I hope to gain the exposure offered by the fellowship so as to know how best to tackle the social issue in terms of approach and successful strategy. All these are why I am excited to be a fellow so as to enhance my efforts in combating neocolonialism, discrimination, and advancing sustainable development. "

About the Millennium Fellow
Mitchell Ayiko is a disciplined student that has proven to have a strong passion in social impact initiatives that particularly focus on human rights. She has demonstrated leadership skills through her involvement in extra curricular activities such as the debate club and moot club. In many occasions, I have seen Mitchell offering guidance to new members at her university school clubs. She has also proven to be a democratic leader who always aims at ensuring inclusion. Furthermore, her project "Untangled" seeks to solve the problem of discrimination by emphasizing the acceptance of personal identity in the African context. The project aims at introducing inclusive policies through changing the grooming culture. It also emphasizes the issue of self acceptance through recognizing that Eurocentric standards of beauty do not apply to Africans. As a result, this research topic clearly indicates that the candidate posses strong personality who wishes to reduce inequality and discrimination.
She is also pursuing her entrepreneurial dreams of delivering high-quality hair care to everyone in a world where there is a gap because of colonialist beliefs, in addition to advancing her legal career.
